Betty Marie (Leschber) Smith, or “Bree” as family and friends knew her, passed away on Jan. 27, 2023, at the age of 87.

Judith (Judy) Marie Lange Malish, age 83, completed her call here on earth and went to her eternal home Jan. 27, 2023, after her courageous and strong fight with Alzheimer’s.

Betty Marie (Leschber) Smith, or “Bree” as family and friends knew her, passed away on January 27, 2023, at the age of 87. She was born in Taylor, to parents Wilhelm “Willie” and Lena (Simank) Leschber.

Martha Alderete Barrera “Nani” went to her heavenly home Jan. 5, 2023, to be with her husband Elias Barrera who preceded her in death in 1977.

Karen Lea Childers Holmstrom was born July 8, 1948, to Ora Lea Chernosky and Tommy Whitley Childers in Gonzales. Karen went to be with her Lord and joined her beloved husband, James Carroll Holmstrom, Jan.23, 2023. She was a baptized and confirmed member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

Sybil Joyce Heselmeyer passed away peacefully at the age of 85 Jan. 25, 2023.

Antonio L. Castro, 90, of Thrall, passed away Wednesday, Jan.

Norman Edward Fuessel, 96, of Taylor, joined his beloved Nancy and his Heavenly Father early Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023.

Pauline G. Hernandez, age 62, of Granger, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022, at home, with her daughter and brother by her side. Pauline was born Feb. 13, 1960, in Iowa City, Iowa, to the late Phyllis Mae Schwitzer and Orey Elie Schwitzer of Iowa.

Stanley “Slick” Steve Sherek was born March 4, 1954, to parents, Rudolph and Louise Sherek in Taylor. He passed away Saturday, Dec.

Bryan E. Smith (Cowboy), 63, of Taylor, passed away Dec.

Max Gilbert Thiele, 84 of Giddings, formerly of Thorndale, known as Gilbert to his family, was born Jan. 31, 1938, at home in Paige, to Max Martin and Frieda Sander Thiele. Max passed away the evening of Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023 in Giddings.
