Stanley “Slick” Steve Sherek was born March 4, 1954, to parents, Rudolph and Louise Sherek in Taylor. He passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022.
He grew up in Granger, and was a mover and a shaker.
Always up for a good time until he settled down and made a family with Pauline Villarreal of Taylor. He enjoyed a long career as a truck driver where he was able to enjoy the beauties of the country. He spent his free time working with his hands, fishing and spending time with family.
He raised hell and left his mark on the lives of the people that entered his life until it was time for him to rest. He fought the good fight. Stanley is survived by his brother, Robert Sherek; daughters, Danielle Rashid and Elizabeth Sherek; and son, Eric Sherek. Stanley was blessed with three grandchildren that he loved to spoil.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at Jerusalem Pentecostal Church, 908 E. M.L.K Jr. BLVD. in Taylor.
