An eye on safety

Tommie Garner is a born and raised Taylorite, having served his community through the years in a variety of ways. Now, as a new faculty member at Taylor ISD, Garner is bringing an important new role to the Taylor High School campus.

Think you are too old to accomplish your healthy weight goals?

I recently had a 70-year-old woman say she is too old to get healthy. Her blood sugar is over 400. She is obese and takes four different meds. I told her a few of the following stories from our success journals: Becky: I’m currently on the program. I’m 68, and I kept telling myself the same thing, “I was too old.” I’ve lost 40 pounds and I am off all medication my doctors had once prescribed. I feel better than I have in years.

St. Mary’s begins Advent

Last week, St. Mary’s Catholic School students began celebrating the Advent season their Elementary Christmas Concert and Art Exhibit. The PK3 through fourth grade classes have spent the past several weeks preparing songs in music class.
