Construction plans in Hutto approved
HUTTO – Residents in Hutto will start to see infrastructure improvements in the near future. The Hutto City Council voted to continue with improvements on the city’s infrastructure plans during last month’s meetings that include waterline, transportation and drainage, in addition to highway expansions that have been budgeted in and around more than $2 million in funds on bid less, contractual projects.

Wednesday night family activities in Hutto
During the month of October, there is plenty of family fun on Wednesday evenings in downtown Hutto. From 3 – 7 p.m. every Wednesday evening at 200 East St., the Hutto Farmers Market has free giveaways and activities in addition to fresh local produce, leafy greens, honey, jerky, lemonades, agua frescas, dog treats, coffee, gourmet cookies, bath bombs, and more available for sale through their local vendors.

World-Class data center campus slated to come Hutto
HUTTO – Another major technology project is in the works for the coveted Hutto mega-site. Dallas-based Skybox Datacenters and its partner, San Francisco-based Prologis Inc., have purchased over 220 acres from the city of Hutto, where they plan to build a world-class campus of data centers. The land is part of the Hutto megasite, a massive tract for strategic development of big businesses on the south side of US Hwy 79 in far eastern Hutto.

TSTC Cybersecurity program offers estra Flexibility to students
HUTTO – Texas State Technical College’s Cybersecurity program is coming back this fall to the East Williamson County campus in a hybrid format. For the first time since spring 2020, students will be able to attend labs inperson on campus and listen to lectures online. Students continue to have the option of taking the program in an allonline format.

School zone added on Limmer Loop in Hutto
HUTTO—A new school zone for Cottonwood Creek Elementary and Hutto Middle schools has been added on Limmer Loop near the intersection of Anderson and Westfield streets until Exchange Boulevard and Sherman Street. Drivers must slow down to 35 mph on school days in the mornings between 7:15 and 9 a.m. and in the afternoons between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. Cell phone use is not permitted in school zones. The City of Hutto has posted orange flags by the new signage to alert drivers to the new school zone.

Special Olympics program offered in Hutto
The City of Hutto Parks and Recreation Department is offering a special Olympics program for people 18 years and older who have been identified as having an intellectual disability. Participants will have the opportunity to train and compete in a variety of Olympics style sports.
