Horse Expo Coming Up

The Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society is sponsoring their annual Bluebonnet Horse Expo, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Williamson County Expo Center, 5350 Bill Picket Trail in Taylor. The Expo will feature clinics and demonstrations by equine professionals, a Bluebonnet rescue horse training challenge competition, a stick horse show, a used equipment sale, a saddle auction and a vendor area. In addition, the society will be hosting in-person adoptions of their rescue horses from pre-approved applicants.

Taylor City officials are urging citizens to practice a home fire escape plan and check their smoke detectors for Fire Prevention Week, October 9-15, 2022. This week has been observed the Sunday through Saturday period in which October 9th falls since 1925.

First-grade class reunites after 62 years

It was a day of memories of learning to read with “Dick, Jane and Sally” readers, and having your own brown leather wallet, despite being in the first grade. These reminiscences and more were shared during a special reunion between former Northside Elementary School teacher, Lois Luedtke, now 85, and eight of her 34 first-grade students from the class of 1959-60 Saturday, Sept.

The Ninth Annual Taylor Main Street Car Show, the biggest show in Central Texas, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sat. Oct 29. This family-friendly event will feature cars, live music, shopping, food trailers and cold Texas Beer. Admission to the event, which brings in more than 10,000 attendees annually, is free. In addition, there are two dozen locally owned small businesses in downtown Taylor. Open containers are allowed in downtown, so you can sip, shop, and stroll.
