Ducks grounded by Tigers

The Taylor Ducks lost to the Smithville Tigers 59-54 on their home court Friday night, which dropped their record to 1-3 in district play. Ducks head coach Stephen Gibson said Friday’s loss was very frustrating because he knows how good his team is, they just have to put it together.

SMITHVILLE – The Taylor Lady Ducks traveled to Smithville Friday night for a district matchup and left with a victory. The 58-44 win over Smithville was the fifth district win for the Lady Ducks this season and is their third in a row.

MILANO – Milano’s Jase Todd scored 35 points, including 19 in the fourth quarter, and the Eagles topped the Thrall Tigers (8-9 overall, 2-3 District 27-2A) 57-45 Friday night. Both teams struggled from the field through the first half as both teams shot under 30 percent for the first two quarters.

HUTTO – If Hutto wants to keep its designation at the Safest City in Williamson County, the people need to be willing to pay officers more, according to Mayor Mike Snyder. The mayor recently rode along with officers on patrol and came back determined to make changes.
