Potters Alley seeks you

There’s still time to help beautify Taylor in a unique way. The Taylor Public Arts Advisory Board is issuing a call for proposals to refresh and add new art to “Potters Alley,” a brick alley way that extends west off the city’s Main Street in downtown Taylor.

March Madness is packed with amazing opportunities for fans, students and cities, but showcases obvious disadvantages between men and women’s basketball. I have been given the fortune to travel to many cities this semester to perform at basketball tournaments for the Razorback basketball teams.

TWIST OF FATE

Last week, a husband was on his way home from Taylor to his wife near Granger. When he arrived, his house was gone, but his wife, family and their faith remained.

Abbott outlines tornado recovery

Gov. Gregg Abbott and other officials surveying the devastation created by a pair of EF-2 tornadoes that plowed through the area last week praised hardhit communities for their determination to quickly rebuild.

Tornado-relief efforts abound; more needed

There are plenty of ways to help residents who suffered losses after a devastating tornado carved a path of destruction through eastern Williamson County last week. Cities, organizations and volunteers have already started aiding the community with cleanup and supplies, but more can be done, relief workers said.

A national oil-change business has been turned away by Taylor over concerns about traffic and its proposed location. The businessman behind the outlet said it would have brought 10 jobs and possibly up to $1.2 million in taxable sales to the city.

Two local cheer teams new to competition is already flipping over opponents. Cheer Skillz in Taylor, led by coach Jamie Chepulis, is a new gym in Taylor and has already won multiple competitions, including nationals.
