Pretty soon, aspiring basketball stars of all ages will be able to shoot hoops in Hutto well after the sun goes down. The Hutto City Council voted unanimously on May 5 to purchase basketball court lighting systems for Hutto Lake Park, Fritz Park and Hutto Community Park.

To start one of the most important weeks of their life, Hutto’s top students got started with the most important meal of the day. On May 23, Hutto Independent School District announced the top 10 students of the senior class of 2022.

A Tuesday night school board meeting ended with several actions in regards to Samsung Austin Semiconductor’s coming to Taylor. On May 24, the Taylor Independent School District board of trustees approved by majority vote the creation of a reinvestment zone and applications from Samsung for agreements for an appraised value limitation.

Big money and the early 20th century invaded the Williamson County Expo Center last Saturday. On May 21, the Expo Center hosted the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce’s Casino Night Gala.

The City of Taylor Parks and Recreation Department will hold a dedication ceremony honoring the renaming of the Murphy Park Pool to the Doris Roznovak Aquatic Center on Saturday, May 28, at 11 a.m. Everyone in the Taylor community is welcome to attend the ceremony and celebrate the official opening of the pool for the summer.
