Williamson County has concluded preliminary damage assessments of structures affected by the March 21 tornadoes. Approximately 430 structures were affected in Williamson County’s unincorporated areas and cities outside the city limits of Round Rock.

WILCO – The Williamson County Commissioners Court has extended an Order Declaring a Local State of Disaster for Williamson County. The order prohibits outdoor burning in all of the unincorporated areas of Williamson County and smoking in and/ or on Williamson County parks, preserves and trails due to dry vegetation, wind and imminent threat of severe damage.

A pair of weekend barbecue fundraisers will be a delicious way to help survivors of the east Williamson County tornado this past month. Only days removed from the devastation left from the twister March 21, the Great Granger Tornado Relief BBQ Plate Fundraiser was scheduled for Saturday, April 2, from noon to 5 p.m.

As a favorite rest stop for cyclists, New Sweden Lutheran Church seeks to share a blessing of love, safety and support for cyclists and the causes for which they ride. The church, located at 12809 New Sweden Church Road in Manor, will welcome cyclists from across central Texas and preside over an outdoor Blessing of the Bicycles service on Saturday, April 9, at 10:30 a.m.

Students at Main Street Intermediate School were invited to enter the contest by submitting a favorite recipe for consideration. The theme for this year was recipes inspired by a book or movie and transformed into a healthier version of the original.
