0. L. Price trophy finds home at THS

The 1962 O. L. Price State Championship trophy now has a home in the Taylor High School trophy case. Led by Coach Edward “Bud” Elder, the O. L. Price Panthers defeated Dayton Colbert 42-6 and won the 1962 Prairie View Interscholastic League (PVIL) Class A state championship.

COUPLAND – On the Nov. 8 ballot, three Coupland City Council places were up for election. Incumbents Barbara Piper and John Roulston-Bates were reelected. The newly elected alderman is Russell Schmidt.

When we revamped the Chamber Ambassador program earlier this year, we had no idea the promise it would hold. We have had 10 greencoats this year who have spread Chamber cheer, checked in on members and learned about how the Chamber does what it does and why.

When Taylor High School librarian Lynn Butler was a teenager, she loved reading realistic fiction and historical fiction. She sought out books about high schoolers, just like herself and her friends.

When Daniel Philhower and his wife first came to Taylor in 2004, they thought it was a perfect fit for them. “We found everything we need is right here in Taylor,” said Philhower, the owner, president and CEO of Granite Media Partners, Inc., the parent company of the Taylor Press and East Wilco Insider.
