COUPLAND — Two people were ejected from a vehicle in a crash south of Coupland earlier this month.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers have released information on an accident that happened Jan. 17. There were no fatalities. On that Monday,
On that Monday, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado with four occupants was stopped at the intersection of Lund Road and S.H. 95. Meanwhile, a 2000 Freightliner truck tractor with only a driver was traveling southbound on the highway.
“The Chevrolet entered the intersection when unsafe and was struck by the Freightliner,” said Sgt. Deon Crockrell. “The collision caused the Chevrolet to spin. Two passengers in the Chevrolet were ejected from the vehicle.”
Afterward, the truck tracker reportedly continued across the northbound lanes, went off the road and overturned.
“Four of the injured were transported by EMS to Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital,” said Cockrell, “and one person was transported to Dells Children’s Medical Center.”
DPS wants to reminds everyone about road safety after this extensive crash.
“Minimize distractions, don’t drive fatigued, don’t drink and drive, obey traffic control devices,” said Cockrell, “and always wear your safety belt.”
