This past Monday, Jan. 24 the Taylor ISD school board met to recognize Taylor students and student athletes for their accomplishments. The board members were also recognized from Taylor area schools for their hard work and dedication to the district this past year.
The school board approved the Taylor ISD academic school calendar for the 2022- 23 school year. The 2022-23 calendar for Legacy Early College High School will go to the board for approval in February.
Following closed session, the school board voted to extend the contract of Taylor superintendent Devin Padavil for an additional year through January 2025.
Every January the school board reviews the superintendent’s evaluation, provides feedback and makes adjustments to the superintendent’s contract.
Padavil is Taylor’s 19th superintendent in the school’s 137-year history. He gets a lot of energy from all the social interactions, those experiences also provide valuable information as he works to lead the district forward.
One of his first decisions as superintendent was to hire Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Brandon Houston.
Since his arrival, Padavil has helped navigate the district through the COVID-19 pandemic and the snow storm of 2021.
The next Taylor ISD school board meeting will take place on Monday, February 21 at 7 p.m.
