Roger Lonnie Walther passed away Jan. 4, 2024, at The Rose Assisted Living and Memory Care. He was born March 22, 1940, in Taylor, to his parent Fritz and Wilma (Weber) Walther.

He was baptized and confirmed at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at Wutrich Hill in Taylor. Roger attended Thrall Independent School District and graduated in 1958.

He married his first wife, Dorothy Diddle, in 1960 and had two sons, Michael and Greg Walther.

In 1967, Roger opened the B&W Brake and Alignment Shop in Austin with Curtis Borho. After 24 years, Roger retired.

In 1992, Dorothy passed away from cancer. He later had two more grandchildren, Devin and Logan Fisher.

Roger’s favorite hobby was building and flying radio-controlled airplanes with his sons and grandsons. He belonged to Georgetown Aero Modelers Association club and was part of a group known as the Old Farts Club, and proud of it.

Every year in October, the airplane shop closed for Christmas, and the woodworking shop would open. He created several beautiful pieces of furniture for friends and family. He created several pieces for Trinity Lutheran Church as well.

Roger and Priscilla never missed an activity with all the grandchildren, which made a huge impression on them. Roger and Priscilla enjoyed traveling around the United States with their dear friends James and Joanne Land.

While attending Trinity Lutheran Church, he served as an Elder, a member of the Joy Club, and President of the Congregation. He and Priscilla made lifelong friends at Trinity Lutheran Church. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Wilma Walther; three brothers and one sister, Milton Walther, Lester Walther, Nolan Walther and Evelyn Walther Werchan; and one stepdaughter, Heidi Werchan-Walther.

Roger is survived by his wife, Priscilla Walther; sons Michael and Greg Walther; stepdaughters, Kristen Cepak and Bethany (Terry) Fisher; grandchildren, Courtland Cepak, BriAna Cepak Cawley, Devin (Avery) Fisher and Logan Fisher; great grandchildren, Parks Cawley, Hunter Fisher and Carter Cepak; along with several nieces and nephew and many other family members.
