Eleen Jansky

Eleen Jansky

Eleen Jansky passed Nov. 10, 2023 in College Station.

Eleen was born at her parents Leo and Lydia Rieger farm home Jan. 22, 1930, in Beyersville.

She attended elementary and junior high at the Beyersville school and then went to Taylor High School, where she graduated in 1949. She attended clerical and business school for a year and then worked as a sales clerk at a local department store in Taylor.

She married Henry Jansky, from Cameron, Nov. 3, 1951. Together they had two children, Michael and Cindy.

Eleen was a mother, homemaker and in-home daycare provider. She was a second mom to numerous children and was affectionately called “Jansky.” She moved from Taylor to Bryan in June of 2000 in order to be closer to her grandsons, Samuel and Eli.

Eleen loved her immediate and extended family, and enjoyed cooking, baking and vegetable gardening. She also spent her earlier years as a member of the Post 4476 VFW Auxiliary and the St. Mary’s Catholic Daughters. She and Henry spent many years supporting St. Mary’s Catholic school running the Parish Picnic’s Cake Walk among other activities.

She most loved her grandsons Drew, Samuel and Eli. The time she got to spend with them after school, going to their sporting events, school programs and making them special meals was what made her happiest.

Eleen was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Lydia; and her husband, Henry.

She is survived by her son, Michael Jansky; daughter, Cynthia Jansky MD and husband Dan Dawson MD; her sister, Pearl Lee Brinkmeyer and husband Roy; three grandsons, Drew Jansky, Samuel and Eli Dawson; and one great granddaughter, Isabella Jansky.

A rosary service was held Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Taylor.

Funeral Mass was held at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church with a graveside service to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or Allen Academy School in Bryan.
