Chad Cox

Chad was born July 26, 1979, in Waco, to Rhonda Edward Cox.
Chad’s family included three younger siblings, Jason Cox, Nicole Haegan, and Seth Cox.
He was proud of each of his siblings and spoke of their childhood often. He was raised in Granger, where he was on the offensive line of the 1997 state champion football team and graduated from Granger High School.
Chad then married the love of his life, Brenda Hyzak Cox, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor on Aug. 14, 2004.
Chad and Brenda were blessed with two daughters, Heidi in 2008 and McKenzie in 2011. During Chad’s career, he was a delivery driver at Budweiser and Ben E.
Keith and was a salesman for Covert Ford in Hutto. For the last several years, Chad was an insurance agent with the Knights of Columbus.
Chad was also a bus driver for Thrall ISD and enjoyed each interaction that he had with the students on Bus 19 and the Thrall High School Band. He enjoyed the work that he did throughout his career and found a sense of accomplishment in helping those who needed assistance.
Chad had a passion for the company of friends and family, Aggie Football, Granger Football, and Thrall ISD.
Most of all, he enjoyed taking care of others and helping them to smile.
Above all, Chad loved his wife and his daughters. He was the proudest daddy at each step of his daughters’ lives.
He was always a present fixture at twirling, cheer, and band competitions, and always wore his Thrall Purple or his Aggie Maroon, which made it easy to locate him in the arenas and gyms. Putting together family gatherings, playing games, cooking good food, and working on his 1979 Ford are some of his most cherished times. Chad loved selflessly, he lived his life to the fullest, and he loved the people around him.
Chad is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Brenda; children, Heidi and McKenzie; father, Edward and wife Debi Cox; mother, Rhonda and husband Doug Thomas; siblings Jason Cox and wife Genie, Nicole Haegan and husband Phillip, and Seth Cox and wife Tori; and grandmother, Helen Kattness.
