He attended Hutto ISD all the way through high school then received a bachelor’s degree from UT. Carvin had a long career in the banking industry followed by a position as a job coach at Westwood High School.
In 1971, Carvin married his beautiful wife Janis, and their family grew with the addition of daughter Rachel and then their son John.
Carvin proudly served in the National Guard and was very active in civic organizations, such as the Lions Club. A lover of the simple pleasures in life, Carvin most enjoyed being around people.
He was known to all as a friendly, approachable guy, whose door was always open. Carvin made everyone feel welcomed and valued.
After a full and faithful life, on Feb. 13, 2025, Carvin went home to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mable, his siblings, George Jr. and Marjorie, and his wife Janis.
He leaves his two children, their spouses, and four grandchildren to cherish his memory. Carvin’s family said “they have great comfort in knowing he is secure in heaven with his Savior, Jesus Christ, and is reunited with his precious wife Janis.”
Carvin placed His faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of his sins, at an early age. That faith is what empowered him to live the life he did - with joy, humility and grace.
Carvin’s friendly demeaner and bright spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His gentle soul, infectious smile, and bright blue eyes will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Carvin’s life will be held at Hutto Bible Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15.
