Andrea Yvonne Anderson Blakely

Andrea Yvonne Anderson Blakely

Andrea Yvonne Anderson Blakely

Andrea Yvonne Anderson Blakely was born on Feb. 18, 1965, in Austin, Texas, to Leroy Anderson, Sr. and Dannie Royal Anderson. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at The First Baptist Church in Taylor, where she was a member of the Youth Usher Board and Youth Choir.

Andrea was a proud member of the Taylor High School Class of 1983, where she was active in choir and other student organizations.

After graduation, she attended Texas Southern University in Houston.

Andrea was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. She opened her home to any and all who needed a place to stay, something to eat or a listening ear. Her radiant smile and positive energy left a lasting impact on everyone with whom she came in contact. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and working with her friends to provide repast services to bereaved families in the community.

A fun-loving person, Andrea was the life of the party and will be remembered for her acts of kindness and generosity.

One of Andrea’s most joyful occasions was appearing on television as a contestant on the Family Feud with Steve Harvey. Andrea orchestrated the family’s appearance on the game show and served as the Team Captain for the “Royal Family.” It was her desire to be on the Family Feud and she made it happen.

Andrea is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband General Douglas Sr; mother Dannie; children Alexandrea “Alex” and Julian “JD” ; grandchildren Charles Jr, Anaiis, Alexa, Jace, Caiden, Ja’Darian, and Jalayah; siblings Michelle, Leroy Jr., Ursurla (Evad), and Gerald; special cousins Vickie, Billy, Karen, Brian (Leonor), Vanessa (Stanley), and Gregory; nieces and nephews Nekoye, Allison, and Kevin; godchildren and many extended family members and friends.

Andrea departed this life Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025. She is reunited with her father, grandparents, son, aunts, uncles and other deceased loved ones.

Though her time with us was short, her memory will be cherished forever.

She was a faithful wife, devoted daughter, loving mother, awesome grandmother “Nana,” caring sister, and loyal friend.

A funeral to celebrate Andrea’s life will be Saturday, Feb.

8, 2025, from 1–2 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas.

Public viewing and visitation from noon to 1 p.m. before the funeral.

The Blakely and Anderson family extend their deepest gratitude for the support, prayers, and love during this difficult time. Your kindness and compassion provide great comfort to the family.
