Tenny Taggart Swonke

Tenny Taggart Swonke, 77, of Taylor, Texas, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024.

She was born in Belton, Texas, Feb. 21, 1947, to Hugh and Jonnell (Whitley) Taggart. She graduated from Belton High School in 1965 and continued on to receive an associate degree from X-ray technician school in Dallas.

She wed Robert Swonke on Oct. 10, 2015; they were married nine years.

She worked as an X-ray technician in Dallas and at the Veterans Administration hospital in Temple for several years. She then went to work for the Tax Appraisal District of Bell County, where she finished her 20-plus year career.

Tenny enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking, catering delicious meals for large crowds and family, dancing and, above all, spending quality time with her friends and family. She was also actively involved in the First United Methodist Church of Taylor and the Bell County Rodeo Association of Belton.

In addition to her husband, survivors include daughter Kaci Lewis; stepchildren Missie Crews (Clayton), Richard Lewis (An), Roger Swonke and Kristina Chavana (Frank); sister Terry Taggart; brothers John Taggart, Jay Taggart (Leah) and Jeff Taggart; grandchildren Sloan Crews, Connor Crews, Jordan Lewis, Trevor Lewis, Sienna Lewis, Anthony Chavana and Adelina Chavana; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Tenny is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and infant son Robin Lewis Arrott.

A visitation is 6-8 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025, at Condra Funeral Home, 503 Talbot St. in Taylor.

Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at North Belton Cemetery in Belton.
