Gilbert Frank Selucky
Gilbert Frank Selucky
All of Gilbert’s childhood was spent in Granger. Gilbert married Joyce Wood, the love of his life, in Taylor, Texas, in 1963. After that, the couple would gift the world with a son and a daughter. The family would eventually move to the Temple region in 1974, where they would continue to love one another unconditionally and live life to the fullest. Before his health deteriorated and he was unable to continue attending, Gilbert spent many years as a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple. He was a firm believer in the Bible and knew that he would be reunited in paradise once his earthly life was over.
Before retiring in 2011, Gilbert worked for Griggs Equipment and, subsequently, Artco Bell.
Gilbert enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping in the great outdoors. He was passionate about collecting all types of metal pots and was an iron pot collector. Gilbert was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His numerous friends and family will miss him terribly.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandchild. Gilbert leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Joyce Selucky, of Temple; daughter, Debra Martinez, and husband, Freddy, of Temple; son, Kevin Selucky, of Arkansas; sisters, Norma Varhalla, of Austin, Alice Martinets, of Lake Jackson, and Josephine Hudson, of Temple.
Gilbert also leaves behind six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren Gilbert will be buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Granger, Texas at a later date.
