Jonathan loved reading, listening to music and had a passion for hunting and fishing. He focused that passion by providing guided hunting retreats in Colorado. He eventually shared his knowledge of guns working in the sporting goods section of the Walmart in Taylor, where he retired in 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Richard Ashton Barker.

Jonathan is survived by his daughter, Carrie Barker-Settles and her husband Mark Settles of Parker, Colorado.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, Oct. 29, at noon at Calvary Chapel of Taylor, officiated by Pastor Steve Cay.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Calvary Chapel of Taylor would be appreciated.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Chapel of Taylor, 114 W. Fourth St. in Taylor, where he was an active member for many years.
