Bobby Louis Bryan
After Bobby graduated from Taylor High School in 1955, he pursued a career in law enforcement for 39 years, which included the Taylor Police Department and the University of Texas Police Department. Bobby was also a member of Solomon Masonic Lodge for 57 years. In addition, he was the Master of the Lodge from 1991-1992 and the secretary for 28 years.
In 1984, Bobby met Marlene, his wife, after being set up on a blind date that was arranged by her daughter. Bobby and Marlene spent almost 40 years of a wonderful marriage together. Bobby felt like Marlene was his miracle in his life. In 2000, Bobby retired along with Marlene, and they spent their time traveling, playing games, working puzzles, supporting their church and spending time with friends and family. Bobby also loved watching his sports and western shows.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Ophie Bryan; brother, Jimmy Bryan; sister-in-law, Geanne Bryan; nephew, Patrick Bryan; and brother-in-law Norman Barberis.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Bryan; daughter, Michele Rusnak; bonus daughter, Marcy Kahn; granddaughter, Emma Scout Bennett; sister-in-law, Cheryl Barberis; niece, Jill Weiss; nephew, Bradly Barberis; and niece, Susie Bryan-Mott.
A funeral service was held July 20 at 2 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Solomon Masonic Lodge, P.O. Box 162 Taylor, Texas 76574.
