Dennis Martin Meyer

Dennis Martin Meyer

Dennis Martin Meyer, age 55, passed away June 24, 2024, at his home in Hutto, Texas with his loved ones by his side. He was born April 27, 1969, at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, to Dennis Harold Meyer and Joann Elizabeth (Hemphill) Meyer.

Dennis met Wendy in 1997 at the Chili’s in Round Rock on the day she moved from Houston to start her new job at Berry Creek Country Club in Georgetown. They were married on June 14, 2000, in Negril, Jamaica.

He was very proud of a lifetime career in the food and service industry, which he began in his teens. In 1995, Dennis started his career at McDonald’s restaurant alongside his father. In 2019, Dennis became an owner/operator of multiple stores. He truly enjoyed going to work each day and bantering with the regular customers.

Dennis had a love for baseball that started when he first walked onto the tee-ball diamond. He had no greater joy than watching and cheering for his son Van. From tee-ball to select baseball watching Van always brought a smile to his face. He was so proud of his daughter, Anneliese, and her love of horses and showmanship in barrel racing.

His favorite vacations were the beach, especially Hawaii and the Caribbean. Dennis was a huge Disneyworld fan, loved heavy metal music, gambling, cooking for family and friends and roller coasters.

Dennis discovered he was more like his father than he thought when his first granddaughter, Maisie, was born. Maisie brought him so much joy and the biggest smile you can imagine.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Harold Meyer; grandparents, Harold Martin Meyer and Betty Jane (Eichelberger) Meyer and Joe Vanuel Hemphill and Anneliese (Weil) Hemphill.

Dennis will always be remembered by his wife of 24 years, Wendy Jean (Lehto) Meyer; daughter, Anneliese Elizabeth Meyer and partner Jose Colchado; son, Vanuel Thomas Meyer and granddaughter Maisie Jean Colchado of Hutto; mother, Joann (Hemphill) Meyer of Georgetown; brothers, Jeffrey Meyer and wife Julie of Colleyville, Ryan Meyer and wife Haley of Austin; and bonus brother, Tommy Harris; as well as niece, Ava Meyer and nephews Andrew, Jude, Mason, Logan and Cole Meyer.

The Meyer family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown to them during this time.

A celebration of his life was held July 12, at 1 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Dr. in Georgetown.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Austin, 1315 Barbara Jordan Blvd., Austin, Texas 78723.

May God bless and keep you!
