Vernaline attended Somerville School and went on to complete her Licensed Vocational Nurse training at Taylor John’s Community Hospital in Taylor.
On June 13, 1956, Vernaline married Charles Stolte in Taylor. Together, they had three children, Charlene and husband Wayne Teasdale, David and wife Reisha Stolte and Donald and wife Rachael Stolte. She was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Vernaline dedicated her career to nursing at John’s Community Hospital and was an active member of the Texas League of Vocational Nurses for over 20 years. She enjoyed and had the most beautiful flower gardens, trips to Fredericksburg, gathering with her ‘church ladies,’ gossiping at the beauty salon and hosting family and friends in her home.
Known as the rock of the family, Vernaline brought everyone together with her delicious cooking and warm hospitality. She was extremely independent and had hardworking qualities that inspired all who knew her. Vernaline loved watching her grandchildren participate in sports and was their biggest fan, cheering them on at every game and event.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.
Monday, June 24, at Condra Funeral Home.
A funeral service will take place Tuesday, June 25, at 10 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Taylor Cemetery.
Afterward, friends and family are invited to a gathering at Prince of Peace and Immanuel Church at Wuthrich Hill, at the intersection of Country Road 417 and CR 419 in Taylor.
