John was born Dec. 26, 1952, to Chester and Margaret Konarksy.

He honorably served for the Austin Fire Department for 26 years achieving the rank of Captain.

He married Karolyn Mitchell Konarsky in 1971, later marrying Maryann Wygant Konarsky in 2005.

His hobbies were hunting and teaching all the grandkids how to hunt. He really enjoyed watching all the grandkids’ events and games. He was their biggest fan and rarely missed a game.

He loved growing flowers in his garden and planting trees everywhere he could. He often sat outside watching his hummingbirds and Purple Martins in the houses he put up. He named all his chickens and talked to them daily when he fed them on the Konarsky Funny farm.

John and MaryAnn enjoyed the park and hanging in their 1955 Crown Victoria with the Thunderbolt car club and others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Konarsky and Margaret Konarsky; and wife Karolyn Konarsky.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maryann; daughter, Tammy (Jason) Moerbe; son, Chet (Brandy) Konarsky; son, Barrett (Hannah) Wygant; grandkids Daniel (Mackenzie) Moerbe, Dylan (Skyler) Konarsky, Dalton Konarsky, Jon Moerbe, Dakota Konarsky, Brody Wygant and Cooper Wygant; great grandkids, Ryan Moerbe, Case Moerbe, Jessie Konarsky, Gunner Moerbe and Henslee Konarsky; brother, Joe Konarsky and sister Kay DaSilva.

Visitation will be held May 31, at 2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale, 101 N. Third St. A meal will follow at the Firemen’s Hall in Thrall 201 Main St.
