Jefferey Ray Houston
University. He married Laura Doerfler July 7, 2006.
Jefferey worked for Conroe, Academy and Killeen Independent School Districts as a beloved teacher, coach, offensive coordinator, attendance truancy officer and an assistant principal. He was also very involved in youth sports. He touched the lives of many youths by serving as a youth coach at Belton Christian Youth Center, Belton Youth Baseball Association, 323 Flag Football and FC Belton soccer leagues.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hudson and Evelyn Leshikar of Taylor, and George and Dorothy Houston of Little River-Academy, Texas; uncles, George Wayne Houston and Charles Houston and an aunt, Linda Kelso.
He is survived by his wife, Laura and son, Drew, of Temple; his parents, Carroll and Sharon Houston of Holland; his sister, Carrie Romero of Temple; his in-laws, Mary and Jimmy Doerfler of Temple; his sister-in-law, Angela Williams and husband, Kyle, of The Woodlands; nephews, Ben Romero and Cooper Williams and niece, Charli Williams; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at Scanio Harper Funeral Home in Temple. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 1, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Academy with Brent Boatwright officiating.
