Cory Alan Tillotson

Cory Alan Tillotson

Cory Alan Tillotson, 49, of Taylor, passed away at his home, surrounded by family Feb. 16, 2024. He had suffered from severe colon cancer that had metastasized to his liver.

Cory was born March 11, 1974, in Urbana, Illinois, to Rex Tillotson of Midland and Cindy Cottle (Jim) of Taylor. He married Michelle Sweeney July 14, 2022, officiated by his mother.

Cory was a master welder, and a heck of a mechanic, fixing anything he set his mind to. He was always ready to help family and friends when needed.

Cory accepted the Lord, he was baptized by Pastor Ray Dennis and wife Lily, Sunday, Feb. 11, just days before his passing.

Cory was preceded in death by his sister, Tisha; stepfather, Jim Cottle; and grandparents, Bob and Loda Tillotson of St. Francisville, Illinois, George Seitz, Glenna Seitz and Doris Seitz of Danville, Illinois.

He is survived by a daughter, Kami Alexis Tillotson (Jeff) of Danville, Illinois; one brother, Brandon Tillotson of Midland; Brandon’s children, Chasiti, Kendred Taylen; sister, Tisha Tillotson, deceased; Tisha’s children, Makenna, Jayleigh, Marianna and Tevyn Cottle; and sweet pup Missy; stepchildren, Stevi Sweeney, Colorado, Dustin Sands (Malia of Aberdene, North Carolina); grandsons, Kase, Malia and Makana; and several aunts and cousins.

A celebration of life service is pending.

Sincere thanks goes out to North Austin Medical Center, Dr. Thru Lakshman, Hospice Austin staff and everyone who prayed endlessly for him. He is with family and friends that have gone on before him and his entrance into heaven was a blessed day.

In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Cory’s funeral costs to Cindy Cottle or the Go Fund Me that was set up by Cindy.
