Roy was born March 9, 1967, in Taylor, to his beloved parents, Paul and Connie Gamez.

On Dec. 23, 1994, he united in marriage with his devoted wife, Wanda Gamez.

Roy pursued his education at Temple College, where he graduated with an Associates of Applied Science in Drafting and Design Technology. He dedicated his career to companies such as Texas Instruments, Dell Inc., AMD, and Apple Inc., leaving a lasting mark with his talents and commitment throughout the drafting and design networks.

Roy found solace and happiness in life’s simple pleasures. Whether he was spending quality time with loved ones, firing up the barbecue, casting a line into the water or lounging on the sandy shores, he embraced each moment with joy and gratitude.

Roy will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for his family and friends. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Roy was preceded in death by his beloved son, Cooper Winters.

His memory lives on in the hearts of his surviving family, his wife, Wanda Gamez; daughter, Heather Gamez; son, Aarron Winters; three grandchildren; his parents; sister, Yvonne Case; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb.18, with rosary service beginning at 7 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor.

A funeral service to celebrate Roy’s life will be conducted Monday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, followed by burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
