The possibility that Samsung could be expanding the scope of its presence more than five-fold in the next two decades, along with concerns by some Taylor-area landowners, has Taylor city officials ordering up another look at the longrange comprehensive plan for the area. At issue are areas of Taylor and the extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) that have been put off limits for dense housing, industrial, commercial or retail development because of the high cost of extending wastewater services to those areas.

Polka Worship in Bartlett

St. John’s Lutheran Church will host a polka worship service at 10:30 a.m. at 30650 State Highway 95 in Bartlett. The Praha Brothers Polka Band will play hymns and the liturgy, and everyone is invited to attend. A home cooked German meal will be served immediately after the service, which can be eaten at the church or can be taken to go. Desserts will also be available.

St. Mary’s Catholic to host fall festival Sept.11

St. Mary’s Catholic School will host their 88th Annual Homecoming Celebration from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022 at St. Mary’s Parish and on school grounds to raise funds for the parish. The event will feature live music, concessions, a raffle drawing, games, as well as a silent and live auction. In addition, a barbecue meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $12 per plate, with an optional dessert available for a donation.
