A 35-year-old Taylor woman found out the hard way it’s probably not the best idea to fall asleep in a vehicle while having suspected illegal substances nearby. At 11:04 a.m., officers with the Taylor Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 2700 block of Kelly Drive. The woman reportedly was snoozing in the driver’s seat. Officers discovered a substance suspected to be cocaine and placed her under arrest. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance over 4 grams, a second-degree felony.
MARCH 25
A 30-year-old Taylor man probably won’t be driving anytime soon. At 9:57 p.m., Taylor police conducted a traffic stop in the 4400 block of Bill Pickett Trail. Officers placed the man under arrest and charged him with driving while intoxicated, third or more offense, a third-degree felony.
A 20-year-old Taylor man might want to take care of fines or warrants in a timelier manner. At 3:17 p.m., police apprehended the man in the 1600 block of West Lake Drive. The man had an outstanding warrant out of Bell County for possession of marijuana more than 2 ounces, a Class A misdemeanor.
MARCH 26
A 40-year-old Taylor woman might think twice before putting her hands on a family member again. At 12:38 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. An investigation indicated the woman physically assaulted a member of the household by choking, according to reports. She also prevented the victim from speaking with officers by covering the victim’s mouth, investigators said. The woman was charged with assault/family violence-impeding breathing, a third-degree felony, and interference with public duties, a Class B misdemeanor.

A 36-year-old Taylor man might want to consider calling a ridehail service the next time he goes drinking. At 11:44 p.m., Taylor police conducted a traffic stop in the 3700 block of North Main Street and placed the man under arrest, charging him with driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor.
MARCH 30
A 17-year-old Taylor man might want to consider that rules of the road are meant to be followed, not broken. At 8:06 p.m., Taylor police conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Gunther Way after officers reportedly observed a man participating in a motor-vehicle race on a public street. According to officers, the man was observed disregarding stop signs, speeding and driving left of the center lane. He was placed under arrest and charged with reckless driving, a Class B misdemeanor.
