HUTTO — The first neighborhood being built in the sprawling 825-acre Flora master-planned community is now open for people looking to move into the area, planners said.

Nevada-based Tri Pointe Homes has announced the grand opening of the Terrace Collection, located in the first section of what will eventually become 2,800 new homes.

“Hutto has earned its reputation as one of Texas’ safest and fastest-growing communities, offering residents the perfect mix of small-town charm and modern convenience with strong schools, low crime rates and a high quality of life,” said Bryan Havel, division president of Tri Pointe Homes Austin.

He added, “Flora builds on that foundation as a community designed to match the high standards that make Hutto such a desirable place to call home.”

Several developments are springing up in the area, in part lured by a proliferation of high-tech companies including nearby Taylor’s Samsung Austin Semiconductor promising thousands of new jobs and high wages.

In addition, the Flora master-planned neighborhood, developed by Precedent Land Co., is envisioned as a lifestyle community with access to major employment hubs in Austin and the surrounding area.

The Terrace Collection features model homes as well as houses that are move-in ready, starting in the mid-$300,000s. The seven flexible floor plans range from about 1,600 to 2,750 square feet, with options such as lofts and game rooms.

Tri Point Homes is one of about a half-dozen builders selling properties in Flora. Westin Homes is advertising homes starting at $620,990.

Highland Homes has move-in ready houses starting at $509,990. Empire Communities has ready-built homes starting under $350,000.

Flora is being built along CR 133 in Hutto’s extraterritorial jurisdiction. Construction began in March 2024. The first phase of the development will include about 400 homes.

Christine Rombouts, of NewGround PR & Marketing representing Tri Pointe Homes, said Flora is being constructed in phases partially to lessen any impact to the area.

“That is why it’s called a master plan. It’s not done all at once because 2,800 homes is a lot for a small community,” she said.

Developers want to ensure residents enjoy quality-of life experiences.

“The future Bloom House amenity center, anticipated to open in August 2025, will include a resort-style pool, fitness center, splash pad, parks, and trails, enabling residents to have ample space to relax, play, and stay active,” according to a release from Tri Pointe Homes.

Developers said planned community features include the Market Square for farm-fresh produce and food trucks, an adventure-packed kid zone, open green spaces and miles of scenic trails to foster an active lifestyle.

The builder is using sustainable practices in its Flora homes, focusing on “environmental responsibility, energy efficiency and longterm cost savings” for homeowners, officials said.

The company says its homes are equipped with technology providing homeowners with a greener, more comfortable living experience.

“As the Austin area continues to grow, communities like Flora will play an essential role in fostering a strong sense of home, both inside and outside the front door,” Havel said.
