Taylor soccer shutout versus Salado

Boys

The Taylor Ducks fell 2-0 to the Salado Eagles on Tuesday, marking their first shutout loss in over a month. The last time Taylor was held scoreless was a 1-0 defeat against Manor New Tech on Feb. 11. Despite the loss, the Ducks have secured a postseason berth, finishing third in district play.

Taylor will close out the regular season on the road against Manor New Tech on Tuesday, March 18, at 7:15 p.m. before opening the playoffs against La Vega on Thursday, March 20, at 5 p.m. at Salado High School.

Girls

The Lady Ducks struggled against the Eagles, suffering a 12-0 loss, their worst of the season. The 12 goals were the most Taylor has allowed all year, surpassing a 9-0 defeat to Wimberley in the season opener. The Lady Ducks trailed 5-0 at halftime before conceding seven more goals in the second half.

Taylor will wrap up the regular season at home against Manor New Tech on Tuesday, March 18, at 7:15 p.m. before facing China Spring in the first round of the playoffs on Friday, March 21, at 7:15 p.m. at Belton High School.
