SEGUIN — The Taylor Lady Ducks softball team went 3-0 in the Seguin Tournament, defeating Poth, Hyde Park, and Navarro from Feb. 13-15.
Taylor’s bats were hot to open the tournament with a dominant 7-1 victory over Poth. The Lady Ducks’ pitching was also strong, holding the Pirates to just one run after they scored early in the first inning.
The next matchup was more competitive, but Taylor pulled away late for a 6-3 win over Hyde Park. The Panthers took an early 1-0 lead before the Lady Ducks responded with three runs over the next two innings. Hyde Park battled back to tie the game at three, but Taylor plated three late runs to secure the victory.
Taylor’s offense exploded in its final game, defeating Navarro 12- 4.
The Lady Ducks return to action Tuesday, Feb. 18, against Elgin before resuming tournament play at Westwood High School from Feb. 20-22.
