A pair of weekend barbecue fundraisers will be a delicious way to help survivors of the east Williamson County tornado this past month.

Only days removed from the devastation left from the twister March 21, the Great Granger Tornado Relief BBQ Plate Fundraiser was scheduled for Saturday, April 2, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Cotton Country Club, 212 E. Davilla St. in Granger. Live music headlined the event.

Plates were selling for $10, although those most affected by the storm could come for a complimentary meal.

Then on Sunday, Circleville General Store will host its own barbecue fundraiser for tornado victims. The plates will have fixings and sell for $15 to support rebuilding efforts. The event will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the store, 600 S. S.H. 95 in the Circleville community near Taylor.
