The Taylor Ducks girls varsity soccer team suffered its first district loss in a 6-0 defeat against the Salado Eagles on Friday, Feb. 7. The loss snapped the Ducks’ six-game winning streak, as they entered the match with a perfect 6-0 record.

Salado controlled the game from the start, scoring three goals in the first half to put Taylor on its heels early. The Ducks struggled to generate scoring opportunities and were unable to slow down the Eagles’ offensive attack.

The second half brought more of the same, with Salado adding three more goals to secure the shutout.

It marked the fourth time this season that Taylor has been held scoreless and most goals given up since the Ducks season opener versus Wimberley.

Despite the setback, the Ducks will look to rebound when they face Manor New Tech on Tuesday, Feb. 11. They will then return home to host La Grange on Friday, Feb. 14, at 7:15 p.m.
