The Taylor Ducks varsity boys and girls soccer teams swept the Caldwell Hornets on Friday, Jan. 31.
The boys defeated Caldwell 1-0 in a defensive struggle, as both teams kept each other off the board until senior midfielder Diego Alanis scored the gamewinning goal to secure the victory.
The girls' victory was less dramatic, as the Ducks picked up a 5-0 blowout win over the Hornets. Freshman forward Samantha Schroeder led the way with three goals. Junior Tessa Kopecky and sophomore Analisa Arredondo each added a goal.
The boys improved to 4-4-1 overall and 3-2 in district play, while the girls improved to 9-3 overall and 5-0 in district.
The boys go on the road versus Salado on Friday, Feb. 7 at 7:15 p.m. The girls will host Salado on Friday, Feb. 7, at 5:15 p.m.
