An 18-year-old Taylor man was taken into custody after officers made a traffic stop at 11:35 p.m. in the 2200 block of West Second Street. The teen was found to be in possession of a handgun, as well as suspected tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. He has been charged with possession of controlled substance over 4 grams, a second-degree felony, and unlawful carry of a handgun, a Class A misdemeanor.
A 28-year-old Taylor man landed behind bars after police responded to a report of a disturbance at 12:16 a.m. in the 400 block of Davidson Drive.
An investigation revealed the man was suspected of physically assaulting a member of the household, causing injury. He also had six outstanding Class C misdemeanor warrants out of Taylor — three for driving while license invalid and three for failure to maintain financial responsibility. He was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrants and was further charged with assault with injury/ family violence, a Class A misdemeanor.
