I hope you love louder

“Never let your soul be silenced. Live out loud.

“Never let your soul be silenced. Live out loud. Each day tell your truth. Not with words but with actions from your heart.”

— Cory Booker

I hope you live louder. I hope you laugh more. I hope you sing at the top of your lungs. I hope you drive with the windows down and let the wind rustle through your hair.

I hope you hug. I hope you kiss. I hope you surround yourself with people who make you feel alive. I hope you become the type of person that brings good energy wherever you go, and the type of person people want to be around.

I hope you speak what’s on your mind, that you raise your voice for injustice, that you tell others that you love them, instead of waiting until it’s too late. I hope you live louder, shine brighter. From this moment on.

Facebook post

It’s been a pretty frustrating and overwhelming week.

As I’m getting tasks checked off my list today the last one was make a bill payment.

I’m on the phone with customer ser vice and a gentlemen named Luis answers. At this point I’m exhausted and oblige my manners, but it’s obvious I’m hanging on by a thread.

Luis asked me about my day, how my new year was going, and told me he hoped I would have a great year.

His positivity is so addictive, we began to banter a bit.

I told him I appreciated his enthusiasm and told him how great he is at his job.

He told me that he is happy to be working and can’t understand why people can’t just appreciate their job and what they have.

I told him I agree, and I needed a jolt of his positivity today.

He then tells me last year he battled COVID in the hospital for 18 days, and how he is thankful God brought him through it.

He gets up every day knowing he got a second chance at life.

I tell him I’m glad he is okay now, and how we all can learn to be grateful from his experience.

He then says “my better half wasn’t so lucky,” and she didn’t beat it.

He went on to tell me how the love of his life and best friend was gone. How he almost didn’t recover from the depression of it, and how every day he has to fight and be grateful for the time he had.

He ended the call by telling me he changed his outlook and instead of focusing the loss of her he focuses on being thankful for the years he had with her.

Thank you for the multiple reminders Luis.
