Sandra Dawn Sakewitz Trussell was born May 25, 1969, in Austin. She passed away peacefully March 30, 2022, at her home after a long battle with cancer.

“Sandy” graduated from Hutto High School in 1987 and The Art Institute of Dallas in 1989. She worked many years for Art Office Signs in Taylor and more recently at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Her passion was art, and she was very happy when painting and sharing her love for art. After her cancer diagnosis she named her studio “How Great Thou Art” as she felt truly blessed by her talent and her gratitude for a chance to teach art with a passion.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Harry Sakewitz.

She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Trussell; her husband, Blaine Trussell; mother-in-law, Kay Trussell; stepdaughters, Jami and Tori, their spouses and their children, Camryn, Owen, Teddy and Alex; also her parents Phyllis and Harvey Johnson; sister, Suzanne, Rob and Brooke Sanford; and dear friends, Sylvia Johnson and sons. Sandy loved many other relatives and friends that were very special to her.

There will be a visitation and memorial service April 8, at Immanuel Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Taylor beginning with visiting at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m.

Memorial donations to Immanuel, the charity of your choice or flowers for the service will be greatly appreciated.
