Hopefuls for elected office have until 5 p.m. Feb. 14 to submit candidate applications for eligible city council and school board seats.
Filings for the May 3 general election opened Jan. 15.
On the Taylor City Council, open seats include District 1, currently held by Gerald Anderson, and District 4, represented by Robert Garcia.
Hutto voters are being asked to elect a mayor — the incumbent is Mike Snyder — and council members for Place 3 and Place 6, seats held by Randal Clark and Amberley Kolar, respectively.
Up for grabs on the Taylor Independent School District board are places 3, 4 and 5, which are occupied by board Assistant Secretary Cheryl Carter, board President Marco Ortiz and Joseph Meller, respectively.
The Hutto Independent School District board also has three seats open. Trustees whose terms are expiring include board President Billie Logiudice, board Vice President Shannon Jacobs and Terrence Owens.
Hutto ISD’s board members represent the district as a whole, rather than having single-member positions that represent a sub-portion, according to the school district website.
Terms are for three years.
