LADY DUCKS GET THIRD

straight win

The Taylor Ducks girls' varsity basketball team earned its third consecutive victory, defeating Lake Belton 54-42 on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The win marks the Ducks' longest streak of the season, improving their overall record to 7-12.

Offensively, Taylor delivered one of its best performances of the season, posting its thirdhighest point total. While the Ducks have struggled with shooting consistency this season, they’ve shot over 35% from the field in their last three games. Defensively, they have also shown improvement, allowing just 30 points per game during their winning streak.

Senior guards Sophia Fisher and Zakaya Frederick, along with sophomore forward Tianna Candee, have been key contributors. Fisher leads the team in scoring, averaging 8.9 points per game, while Frederick adds 5 points per game. Candee has been a force on the boards, leading the team with 10.8 rebounds per game.

The Ducks appear to be finding their rhythm under first-year Head Coach Azzie Knox. Taylor will aim to extend its winning streak when it faces La Grange on Dec. 20, followed by a trip to Franklin for a noon matchup on Dec. 27.
