The Taylor Ducks defeated the Smithville Tigers 71-33 in its season opener on Friday, Nov. 22. This is the third consecutive season that the Ducks won their opening game doing so in impressive fashion.
Many teams face early-season offensive struggles, but that was not the case for Taylor as they have now averaged 75 points per game in their last three matchups versus the Tigers.
Defensively, the Ducks were stout. They allowed just 33 points, the lowest allowed since the 2022 season, defeating Caldwell 57-33.
Taylor will look to carry its momentum into its next couple of opponents, going on the road versus La Grange on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 12:30 p.m. before hosting Giddings on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 6:15 p.m.
