The Greater Taylor Foundation announced their 2nd annual “Give Taylor, #GivingTuesday” event as part of the global #GivingTuesday initiative on Dec. 3, according to a news release.
With a $10,000 initial donation from Faykus Financial, the one-day, online campaign encourages donors to give to local nonprofits to make a difference in the community during the holiday season.
This year’s goal is to raise $40,000 to support vital local nonprofits services in Taylor.
Visit givetaylor.org on Dec. 3 to donate and select nonprofit agencies of your choice. The nonprofit organizations will receive their donations on Dec. 11 and will be recognized at the Celebrate Taylor Luncheon on Dec. 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, located at 2500 Mallard Lane. Tickets for the luncheon can be purchased on Eventbrite for $35.
At the luncheon, awards will be given to the nonprofit raising the most money, the nonprofit with the highest per capita giving and the nonprofit with the most donors.
The Greater Taylor Foundation focuses on enhancing the quality of life in the city through support for local nonprofits, philanthropy and community development.
“Our mission is to foster a thriving community by addressing critical needs, promoting volunteerism and providing resources to organizations that serve our residents,” read the news release. “The Foundation is committed to creating a positive impact and ensuring a brighter future for all members of our community.”
