Thrall falls to Tidehaven 62-30

The Thrall Tigers varsity football team lost to the Tidehaven Tigers 62-30 on Friday, Nov. 15. Thrall finished the season 6-5 overall and 1-3 in district play.

Thrall got on the board first with a 55-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Chance Parker to senior wide receiver Landon Gregory to make it 6-0. Tidehaven quickly bounced back with a couple of scores, taking the lead 14-7. Thrall fought back with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Parker to senior Nick Trueter, set up by a 38-yard pass from Parker to senior Tyler Ortiz, cutting the deficit to 14-12.

Thrall took the lead and dominated the second quarter, scoring 16 unanswered points to make it 23-14. However, the third quarter told a different story, as Tidehaven regained the lead and never looked back, outscoring Thrall 27-7 to make it 41-30 heading into the fourth.

Thrall was unable to score again as Tidehaven added 21 unanswered points in the final quarter. Parker finished the game with 258 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. His top targets were Trueter and Gregory, who combined for 170 receiving yards and two scores. Thrall will head into next season needing to replace 10 seniors, including Parker and his top target Gregory, as the Tigers aim to return to the postseason.
