The Taylor Ducks girls’ varsity basketball team went 2-0 against the Stratford Spartans and the Killeen Kangaroos, improving their record to 3-5 overall.
Taylor vs. Stratford Spartans on Saturday, Nov. 9
The Ducks defeated the Spartans 57-48 as the Taylor offense had its best performance of the season. This was just the second time in eight games that Taylor scored over 50 points, setting a season high. Senior Sophia Fisher and sophomore Tianna Candee led the way, each scoring 17 points.
Taylor vs. Killeen Kangaroos on Tuesday, Nov. 12
The Ducks showcased their strong defense against the Kangaroos, winning 40-35.
This was the fewest points Taylor has allowed all season. Senior guard Zakaya Frederick and Fisher were scrappy, accounting for eight total steals. Fisher also led the team in points with 15, while Candee contributed The Ducks will on this momentum aim to reach .500 the year. Taylor will face Little River Academy on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 6:15 p.m., before playing Rouse at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov.
