The Taylor Ducks varsity football team lost to the Somerset Bulldogs, 35-28, on Friday, Nov. 15. This marks the end of the Ducks’ season as they fell in the first round of the playoffs.

Taylor had a difficult start to the game, missing several opportunities on dropped passes. Defensively, the Ducks struggled in the first half as the Bulldogs built a 35-7 lead heading into halftime.

Taylor showed resilience in the second half, scoring 21 unanswered points. Senior quarterback Eli Laurence made impressive plays to help his team mount a comeback. However, it was not enough, as Laurence's hail mary attempt was intercepted as time expired.

The Ducks finished the season 5-6 overall and 5-1 in district play. For a full recap with game stats and quotes from the coaches, check out this week’s e-edition, released on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
