The Thrall Tigers varsity football team will take on the Tidehaven Tigers in the first round of the 3A playoffs on Friday, Nov. 8. Thrall is coming off a bye week, while Tidehaven defeated East Bernard 29-28 last week.
Thrall will look to put a rough stretch behind them after finishing the season 1-3.
The main issue has been the defense, which has given up an average of 57.25 points per game over those four games. Fortunately, the Tidehaven offense led by junior quarterback Kade Russell has struggled at times this season, averaging just 27.5 points per game compared to Thrall’s 40 points.
Senior quarterback Chance Parker leads the Thrall offense, with senior wide receiver Landon Gregory as his top target. Parker has contributed both through the air and on the ground this season. Junior running back Christopher Kelm leads the Thrall running game. The offense will be challenged, as Tidehaven has been strong defensively, allowing fewer than 20 points per game.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Flatonia High School.
