The Taylor Police Department received a call at 7:56 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, reporting that a vehicle had struck the Taylor Department of Public Safety building, located at 301 W. Fifth St., officials said.
Officers said a white 2022 Chevy van struck the building, causing damage to the exterior wall as well as damage to an interior restroom.
The driver of the van, 65-year-old Brenda Chambers, of Jarrell, was transported by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported from the incident, officials said.
Based on the Google listing, the Taylor DPS is temporarily closed.
Daniel Seguin, city of Taylor communications director, said the city does not have any additional details about the duration of the closure.
