City launches survey platform to gather community input

Taylor is working with FlashVote to engage the community and gather input from residents to inform the city’s decisions, according to a news release.

FlashVote is a survey platform for governments to easily gather scientific data from its community.

To participate, Taylor residents can sign up on the website at flashvote. com/taylortx or call 775-235-2240.

Responses to survey questions are anonymous, and personal or demographic information collected by FlashVote is not shared with anyone, including the city, officials said.

When residents sign up, they can choose to receive surveys by email, text or phone call. Residents will receive a notification whenever there is a new survey and will have 48 hours to participate before voting closes. Once a survey is closed, everyone who participated will receive a summary of the overall results and be able to see how their responses compare to the group.

The city plans to have a survey once a month, officials said.

“So many of our residents have full lives between work, school, children and sports. They don’t have the time or energy to attend a late-night community meeting or council meeting. Their voices and opinions still matter,” Taylor Communications Director Daniel Seguin said in a news release. “FlashVote will give us the ability to hear from a broad spectrum of residents who care about the community and want to make their voice heard.”
