Williamson County seeks comments from the public for the draft of the Hazard Mitigation Action Plan update, which is available for the public to review online as of Nov. 1.
The purpose of updating the Hazard Mitigation Action Plan “is to minimize or eliminate the longterm risk to human life and property from known hazards in the area, such as severe weather or wildfires, through effective mitigation,” according to a news release.
The plan, a joint effort between Williamson County, city of Hutto, Hutto ISD, Liberty Hill ISD, Georgetown ISD and Meridian World School, includes a risk overview as well as mitigation goals and actions to lessen the impact of hazards.
The public has until Friday, Nov. 15 to provide feedback. The draft of the plan can be found on the county’s website at wilcotx. gov/218/ Emergency-Management. Comments can also be emailed to [email protected].
