A Thursday, Oct. 31, collision with a dump truck that claimed the lives of a man and a woman is under investigation by Taylor police.
Officers received a call reporting the accident at 9:27 a.m. in the 13400 block of Chandler Road, according to reports.
The driver of a blue Honda four-door, identified as Daniel Siguenza, 35, and passenger Lilliana Nava-Torres, 39, both of Taylor, died at the scene, officers said.
According to a preliminary investigation, the Honda “entered the intersection in the 13400 block of Chandler Road from CR 366 when it failed to yield right of way and was struck by a 2012 Freightliner dump truck” driven by a 49-year-old Cameron man, according to a statement from the Taylor Police Department.
The dump truck was headed east on Chandler, investigators said.
The incident marks Taylor’s third traffic fatality of the year, officers said.
“At this time, there are no charges pending. The investigation into this fatal collision continues,” reads a statement from the Police Department.
