Tornado relief center this week

Residents recovering from area tornadoes can come to Taylor this week for help.

The Williamson County Expo Center, 5350 Bill Pickett Trail, will be the site of the Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) Tuesday through Thursday, March 29-31. Food and clothing will be among items available.

The Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) is partnering with the American Red Cross and other agencies to provide short- and long-term needs for tornado survivors in Williamson an Bastrop counties. Tornadoes struck the counties March 21.

Other items and services that will be offered include children and youth resources, documentation recovery, animal assistance, debris removal, financial advisory, housing, and services and support from the The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). 

Mental health services will also help with coping and to prevent emotional fatigue. 

Spanish speakers will be on site.

Hours for the site are:

• Tuesday, March 29: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.;

• Wednesday, March 30, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; and

• Thursday, March 31, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
